Sukma Attack: Akshay Kumar shows he is a true patriot, donates Rs 1.08 crore to families of 12 CRPF martyrs





here are many B-townies who take proud in flashing about their charitable activities but Akshay Kumar is one such actor who does it genuinely. There have been several times when the actor has come forward for noble cause and made lives of others better. The actor is indeed a true patriot. This time Akshay has come forward to help the families of 12 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) who were killed during an encounter with the naxalites on March 11 in Sukma district, Chhattisgarh. It is reported that Akshay Kumar has donated Rs. 1.08 crores to the martyred men families.

The ‘Airlift’ star has donated rupees nine lakh to each of the families, reports TOI. The report quoted CRPF, “This gesture of Akshay Kumar exhibits his patriotism and devotion towards the country in general and CRPF in particular.” Seeing the Khiladi’s noble act the CRPF took to Twitter to thank him for his genuine contribution. CRPF tweeted, “@akshaykumar B’wd actor a true Patriot stnds with bereaved families of 12 #ShaheedsOfSukma & donates 09 Lac each. CRPF salutes noble gesture” The attack had taken place near Kotacheru under Bheji police station in Sukma. It is said to be one of the worst- Maoist affected districts in India, reports Hindustan Times. About the incident a CRPF official in the capital was quoted saying, “Troops of A/E 219 battalion were on a road opening duty and providing security for road construction in the area when they were ambushed. The ambush was followed up by an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) attack,” reports HT. About Akshay Kumar’s contribution TOI reports that the 49-year-old actor was in touch with IPS Officer Amit Lodha, DIG of Jaisalmer sector north. The IPS officer revealed to the daily, “Akshay himself has been in touch with me and he keeps enquiring about incidents and when I told him about the Sukma incident he immediately told me he would like to contribute and do his bit for the families of the martyred jawans, we are all grateful to him for this kind gesture.”


We respect what Akshay Kumar is doing for the families of the martyred jawans. In the past Akshay has donated Rs. 50 lakh for Jalyukt Shivar Abhiyaan and a crore towards flood relief operations in Chennai.
