Begum Jaan’s new poster reflects all shades of badassness in Vidya Balan



After the title poster, the first look poster of Vidya Balan‘s Begum Jaan is here. And oh boy, Vidya Balan is badass in this one. One look at the her and you know, you don’t want to mess with Begum Jaan. The poster has Vidya Balan sitting on chair in a commanding position and what catches your attentions is the uni-brow she is sporting and those vicious grey eyes. The poster has the caption, “My Body. My House. My Country. My Rules.” And the subtitle states, “When Freedom Fought Independence…”
The first look of the film was posted by film’s producer Mahesh Bhatt and one of the supporting actresses of the film Pallavi Sharda. While Mahesh Bhatt captioned it, “What a woman !!” and in another tweet he wrote, “She will take you to a place in your heart which you may never go !!!” Pallavi Sharda on the other hand posted the image with the caption, “Hamari begum jaan ko milna zaroor! #begumjaanfirstlook”
Begum Jaan is a Hindi adaptation of stellar Bengali film Rajkahini. The original film saw Rituparna Sengupta in the lead. The original was based in Bengal while Begum Jaan follows the partition of Punjab. Rajkahini was one of the most loved films of 2015. It even won several awards at various international film festivals. Begum Jaan marks the debut of the director of Rajkahini, Srijit Mukherji, in Hindi cinema. All those who have witnessed that hard hitting piece of cinema, should already be excited about this one. Also, you know a film is gonna be great when you have Vidya Balan in it
